Ninja Assassin premiers in Hong Kong

Korean pop singer Seoul Rain stepped out this week in Hong Kong for the premiere of the Hollywood blockbuster movie "Ninja Assassin."

In his first leading role the actor and recording artist plays an orphan adopted and trained by a secret society of ninjas, only to turn against it when he finds out that the group's leader executed his friend.

Rain made his Hollywood debut in "Speed Racer" (2008) directed by Wachowski brothers. Taking the reigns this time is James McTeigue  of "V for Vendetta" fame.

At the premiere the 27-year-old star spoke about the training regime he undertook to get in shape for the role.

Rain now takes acting as seriously as singing. His first film, "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," won him the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin Film Festival in 2007.

For now it looks like the star will be juggling his acting and his singing career, following the release of "Ninja Assassin," .
